Reminder: Sauerkraut & preserving workshop today at OxGrow

As a result of the fact that OxGrow has so many massive and amazing cabbages growing in the garden at the moment, which couldn’t possibly be eaten before they’re past their best we’re going in to teach them how to preserve this wonderful bounty using the traditional fermentation technique of making sauerkraut, and everyone’s welcome!

Lots of other veg can go into sauerkraut apart from cabbage, so we’ll be experimenting also with carrots, beetroot, turnips and swede.

There will be plenty of jars available to take away, but the main purpose of this workshop is to save some of OxGrow’s early veg for their harvest festival in October.

OH, AND IF YOU HAVE SPARE KILNER STYLE JARS, BRING THEM!!

Starting at 6.30pm
