Elderflower season is well and truly on us – ufo disks of white flowers satellite wild spaces and hedgerows, scenting the summers breeze so delicately and deliciously…
THIS SUNDAY, from 2pm – 5pm, come join the Abundance crew as we run a skill-share to make Elderflower Cordial as part of Tandem Festival’s Skills-Camp!
ALL welcome, please come to meet us at Hill End Outdoor Education Centre, but if you want to join a cycle convoy going there, please look out for more info on one bike trip leaving from Oxford Train Station on Saturday at 1:30pm! There’s a whole host of exciting skills to learn for FREE at the Tandem Festival Skills-Camp, if you haven’t been down already, we highly recommend going!
We in particular want to check out: Bunting Making, Upcycled Structure Making, Taking Great photos, Yoga and the camp-fire skill-share!
Elderflowers may well be a favourite of many foragers – so delicate, so very abundant and so wonderful at imparting flavours into everything from tea to cake to cordial…
It’s a bit of an Abundance tradition to make elderflower cordial in early June, so that it’s ready to go for a bit of a summer solstice shindig where we crack open the cordial and celebrate the longest day of the year and the height of mid-summers flowery bounty.
Last year and this year however, many Abundancers and CAG volunteers were part of the driving force that put together and are putting together, in a whirlwind of activity, a quite spectacular eco-music festival: Tandem Festival!
Tandem 2015 is bringing together of community, great music from across Europe, upcycled sculptures and creative workshops, spoken word from refugees and asylum seekers, field-theatre, scrumptious ethically-sourced food & more! Check out what we’ve got on this year below…
Hope to see lots of you at Tandem 2015, to try the Elderflower Cordial we make together in the sun-fuelled happiness of Hill End’s rolling countryside and glorious music!
There are GROUP TICKETS available, so if you buy 5 tickets, 1 person goes for free!
