Hello Everyone!
Oxford’s first Food Surplus Café POP-UP event is happening TOMORROW! 12 – 4pm, Sat 25th April in the East Oxford Community Centre there’ll be lovely folks welcoming you in for a feast that is pay as you feel!
More info here: https://oxsurpluscafe.wordpress.com/
If you’d like to come and taste the treats cooked up, please do drop in at any time between 12 and 4pm: and if you come a bit later on there’s likely to be more space to sit and eat without queuing!
There will also be lots of ways to find out more about exciting food-related projects going on at the city in the café- both through information in the café and through talking to those volunteering in the café, many of whom are involved in lots of food projects or could point out people who are!
Don’t forget there’ll be a nettle foraging mini trip this evening (Fri 24th) to pick nettles to put into some of the meals in the café tomorrow!
Meet 5:30/5:45pm at The Fir Tree Pub, 163 Iffley Road this eve.
We’ll head off at 5:45pm into Aston’s Eyot/The Kidneys
to forage for nettles and then those who want to will head back to the pub for a drink. All welcome! Bring gloves/scissors/bags for nettles, we’ll also provide some of course!
SOCIAL If you can’t make either event but would like to be involved in more such events, come along to the post-pop-up oxfoodsurpluscafe SOCIAL! at The Star on Rectory road from 6:30pm onwards on Thursday 30th April. You can bring a packed dinner or take away into the pub if you want to as well, so if you’re short on time, just come eat your dinner with us!
Gluts of Love,
Abundance Oxford on behalf of the Oxford Food Surplus Café Crew
