Do you like fruit? Do you like fruit for free even more? Do you like climbing trees or being in beautiful gardens and green spaces? Want to have a go on our super extendable fruit pickers?
If so, you might well enjoy coming to us, Abundance Oxford, on our harvest sessions! Across Oxford we harvest fruit and veg excesses from back gardens where it might otherwise have gone to waste. We want to make the most of the last of summer and the first crisp breaths of autumn before we lose british summer time, so if you can join in, please email us on AbundanceHarvestsOxford@gmail.com with your name and phone number. We’ll get back in touch with you as soon as we can to let you know when there will be harvests and where they will be.
Usually our harvests take place within the ring road, and usually we meet near the harvest site. Bikes are useful and make it easier to carry fruit (and fun!) – but not always necessary! Let us know if you don’t have a bike.
Volunteers get to take home some of the fruit they helped pick for free– and we’ve got lots of ideas of what to do with the fruit if you want to try something different than the ubiquitous fruit crumble.
We’re in the process of arranging harvests on Friday 5th early evening and perhaps on Saturday 6th too – so stay tuned and definitely get in touch if you’d like to join in!
Gluts of love,
