This Sunday Abundance Oxford will be taking over The Hog Roast café to provide a day of apple themed fun – as well as live music!
Apples are more versatile than you might think. If you’ve a glut of fruit and are sick of crumbles, here are some more unusual recipes to inspire you! http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/oct/05/10-best-apple-recipes-bramley-coxes On Apple Day, we’ll be serving potato wedges with apple ketchup- come and try it out!
And if you really can’t handle the glut, then contact us through this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12lZyohTiW13p6M1UgLNqMBI6jagDAi5GYP7M7jgHFrg/viewform
so we can collect harvest information and organise to harvest your excess, for free! We’ll give you back as much as you want, juice the windfalls that aren’t too bad, redistribute the best apples left to the Food Bank and give some to our volunteers too. We won’t use your data for anything other than organising the harvest.
Alternatively, we’d love apple themed food donations for the festivities- so if you have time to make an apple pie to donate that would be most appreciated! We can give you the apples you need!
How to help out:
* We’ll be cooking up a storm on Saturday and would love a hand cooking, baking and decorating, so please get in touch if you can help.
* We’ll also be harvesting on Thursday and Saturday and again would love a hand harvesting!
* We’ll need lots of help on the day!
Please sign up to our doodle if you can help- and then email abundanceharvestsoxford@gmail.com if you’re new/newer to Abundance and we don’t have your contact details.
Look forward to hearing from you, especially if you can offer a hand!
Abundant Appley Love,
Abundance Oxford
