We’re off to harvest from an overgrown garden (with permission) in North Hinksey, which hosts seven or eight apple trees, two or three pears and a couple of greengages at least!
This garden is very overgrown with long grass and brambles, so we’ll need to do a fair bit of clearing first. BRING TOUGH CLOTHES AND SHOES, and if you have them, GARDENING GLOVES AND PRUNING EQUIPMENT. There will be a limited supply of gloves and equipment, but possibly not enough for everyone. Best to bring a packed lunch and some water with you and we will do too! There will also be lots of blackberries for the picking as we clear the brambles, so bring tupperware for collecting if you want some.
In addition to this we’ll be sending small parties off to a couple of other houses in the area where there are several more apple and pear trees ready for picking.
Meet at Botley Road McDonalds at:
* 11.00 on Saturday or * 2pm on Sunday.
You can come and go whenever during the day, but please let us know when you are coming. We need an army of volunteers for this weekend, so please join us!
