I went up to Sheffield to visit friends and ended up spending a lot of time with one in particular, the lovely Stephen Watts (who I didn’t know would be there). He was one of the two that first started Abundance in the UK- Sheffield’s Abundance Project- and knows a lot about growing, harvesting, preserving, foraging, making the most of foods and flowers and herbs around and more, all whilst being sensitive to the eco-system and balance.

Stephen told me about the brand new website for the Abundance Network, the idea being that we share ideas, what we’ve been up to and how each of us has interpreted and had Abundance work best in our own areas, as there are Abundances across the UK. Whilst speaking with Orchard C ardiff all those months before we got properly going, we had discussed the idea of some kind of online forum or network , so this is great!
Abundance Oxford is now a part of this online network, found here: http://www.abundancenetwork.org.uk/
if you are a student who doesn’t have much time to help out with Abundance Oxford whilst you’re here studying, why not see if there is an Abundance in your local town, or a similar initiative? There are LOADS across the UK, some with slightly different names (town harvesters, orchard towns, etc) all with the same general purpose.
