SO! Tomorrow we’re having an APPLE DAY, a much cosier affair than the huge harvest festival at the same place, Hogacre Common/OxGrow (http://oxgrow.org/get-involved/finding-oxgrow/) last week, and a lot more PARTIPATORY. Traditionally celebrated across the UK on 21st October, come join in the fun, )12-5pm
at 12pm We’ll have some cakes hot from the oven to warm you up and give you energy before getting stuck in to:
a Foraging Walk & depending on what we find, we’ll cook something up with them!
an Abundance Apple Chutney & Sourdough making session (postponed till next time as we were having so much fun juicing and making toffee apples!)
Cider Making!
As well as ALL DAY LONG APPLE PRESSING!
BRING:
– any EXCESS, ABUNDANT fruit or veg or herbs, honey, spices, whatever is cluttering your cupboard
-any jams or chutneys that you’re sick of eating, & come try our hedgerow jelly !
– empty glass bottles for apple juice
– empty jars for chutney
– donations for any produce you want to take home and for the highly affordable super local organic lunch we’ll put on, or bring a packed lunch if you like!
& come dressed up warm and ready to take part!
Afterwards:
there will be a lovely community cook up & eat: CAG Dinnertime event ! http://www.cagoxfordshire.org.uk/news-archive/236-community-kitchen-brings-oxfordshire-together Running in a slightly different format as it’s at Hogacre Common but it will be inside!
